This is where it all began. My grandparent’s home in upstate NY. I spent the majority of my childhood here, days filled with hopes and dreams of a future as grand and alluring as this beautiful old house was to me. Due to their aging, and the demands of maintaining an historic structure, my grandparents decided to sell their home in the 1990’s.  Several years later I still felt unsettled believing our family could have done more to keep the home yet didn’t. Seeing the abysmal decay of the property on a visit, I took it upon myself to try and save the property and bring it back into family ownership. However, I did not succeed. I did not have the financial resources, community or family support, nor the political experience to fight the good fight for long. I had to accept maybe it wasn’t destined I be the one to change fate. Sadly, I was informed in the spring of 2021 that this magical place of my youth, after many years of neglect and abandonment was set for demolition. To say it was a heartbreak is understated. This news signified the ending of many things for me, all extremely emotional.  

I was very sad about this for several weeks, and like sadness often does, it turned into inspirations. This old house wasn’t just a structure, a place that was, with memories that were, and dreams that had been. Not for me. It was much more meaningful.  What if the feelings of nostalgia tied to this place could become living experiences once again? New people, new purpose, new future?

And there it was. Myra Clubs International was born. I had a grand plan. But what a task it would be! 

My grandmother Myra was the only other person to love this house as much as myself. I can recall room by room, conversations we had, just she and I. Sweet hours in the gardens, and adventures in the kitchen. She was my trusted inspiration, my rock, and my source for comfort always. Her home my home. She will be eternally loved for everything she was and everything she encouraged me to be. When it seemed at times life was going to get the better of me, she never failed to remind me of my strengths and determination. Because of her confidence in me, I have been able to see the creation of Normalize Eminence and Myra Clubs International doable even if seemingly impossible by any other opinion. I am privileged to be her granddaughter and to have had her guidance at so many crossroads. I am certain she would watch me tackle this larger-than-life project with a bit of uncertainty, but never question my ability to make the most of it. Thus, it seems perfect to name this wondrous endeavor in honor of her.  I am confident that she would be proud to see this vision brought to life and embrace everything that Myra Clubs International is intended to be. 

The Vision

Myra Clubs are to be opulent social clubs exclusively for women, purveying unique concierge focused amenities and pampering, while forging lifelong sisterhood among its members. Each clubhouse will be built in the architectural likeness of Myra’s original home with modern upgrades to accommodate the luxury standards of club members.

Myra Clubs aim to serve organically ordained women with a strongly connected community of peers, welcoming gathering spaces, resources and services, empowering them to Normalize Eminence beyond an internet presence.
