"Bless Her Heart..."
The most savage, well meaning insult on earth!

If you have ever had a conversation with a southern woman you have likely heard this. It comes in a multitude of different forms. each one designed to give you the once over, strategically phrased upon how clearly you can be seen through. Sometimes it’s the classic “Bless your heart”, the poor pathetic thing go to. Other times it’s a cover for the obvious, “A face only a mother could love, and she adores that sweet child”. Then there is the “I’ll pray for you” (INSERT DREAD HERE). It is the rare few that actually do pray for you, so if you are hit with this one, you may want to consider praying for yourself.

However, we are fine tuning our behaviors to Normalize Eminence. We should be addressing the “poor pathetic things” of the world far more skillfully by being decisive not dismissive.  “Bless your heart, it’s time to listen to what our sisters are saying, not just hear.” The goal of this forum is to help each other overcome our limiting behaviors by losing the condescension we can easily dish out with a quick lash of the seemingly empathetic tongue.

This forum is your new outlet for all things questions and answers.

We are all familiar with the more popular social media sites. We can easily find ourselves getting lost in the weed’s when we visit them. No real purpose or unity, it takes only moments to find ourselves engaged in a meaningless back and forth comment on the comment...we all know how that works out. Fortunately, we have a better option. Engage in Q&A dialog here!

To Normalize Eminence, we must do exactly that.

Although you are encouraged to offer your personal insight on the matters open for discussion, it may be uncomfortable to speak or hear truth. Improving our ability to communicate effectively and put an end to what has become the social media standard is possible. Before you get started, here are some pro tips to guide your experience. If you would like to build your emotional intelligence and social skills further in a more structured way, you are welcome to visit the Felicity page to learn more about the Virtues Series and the spectacular peer-to-peer workshops available to you.

Participate, Participate, Participate! One of the most exciting parts of belonging to this group of women is how much we do to support connections. If someone has taken the time to build a connection with us by submitting a question, it is our privilege to build right back by submitting an answer. AND since we are continually working on improving upon our core set of virtues, strengthening our ability to normalize eminence, this forum gives us a great place to showcase how well we are doing!

Each comment can be direct but must be kind. Remember, although this is “for fun”, the questions submitted are legitimate for the person asking them and they deserve respect.  All questions submitted should align with the values of Normalize Eminence. Any comments that do not support that will be removed.

Its best to respond to the weekly question with a “from your perspective” approach. We are not capable to give diagnoses for mental health issues here. If you feel you need the services of a mental health professional, please contact your physician or local crisis center for further information.

Each thread will be open for comments for a limited time. Typically, after a week they will be closed with a final statement from [Chrissy with a heart over the i].  But don’t worry, as a member you will be able to [search the archives here] whenever you like!

We all have a voice, and it's safe to speak here, provided it's done in grace.

Comments are closed, but there is good advice that may be handy another time.
