I think the biggest complaint of women in their middle age is their lack of connection to each other. If you are extremely fortunate you are still the Anne of Green Gables to your Dianna Berry, bosom friends since like 10! However, as we battle through our school years things change. The thought in college is our new friends will remain besties forever. Only to find out in most case, what seems like within moments of graduation …crickets. Then in the marriage and family stage enter our “mommy friends.” They are the ones we connect with in most cases just because the mom’s group gathered for play dates weekly and our kids become chummy. Sometimes those friends have staying power, but rarely into our empty nest years. Again…crickets. Then there are the neighborhood ladies that although are well meaning at first seem to have trouble nurturing friendships outside of the welcome wagon, Wednesday night bible studies, and heaven forbid your political signs in the yard at election time don’t match theirs. And the coup de gras, if the employment lay off, BFF betrayal, divorce, or scandal train pulls into your station for ANY reason…”WOO WOO” the crickets get crickets.
What then? Should we call it quits? Throw in the dish towel, up some meds, find a cozy spot next to the fire and simply look on while the world carries on without us?
Curiosity is one of the most valuable characteristics one can possess. When coupled with fearlessness and determination, that’s freedom.
As women who believe that life is meant to be lived, curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn her back on life. We must persist. That means women must embrace the notion that curiosity is our bravery, our strength.
Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity. Curiosity is the single most important attribute you have possessed since you were born. Go and do all you can with it. Use it to make the life you want to live, with the people you want to live it with. Your curiosity is going to be your cure for boredom, and together with your Normalize Eminence sisters there are always plenty of ways to foster curiosity, of which thankfully there is no cure!
Do stuff. Be clenched, curious. Not waiting for inspiration’s shove or society’s kiss on your forehead.
An important core value of the Normalize Eminence mission is to DO things. All the things. Make your life count in the best ways possible. Go after what your little heart desires. The easiest way to remove all the limiting behaviors and beliefs that made them so is to replace judgement in your life with curiosity, and act on it often!
There are different kinds of curiosity
One springs from interest, which makes us desire to know everything that may be profitable to us.
Another from pride, which springs from a desire of knowing what others are ignorant of.
Sometimes we just want to have fun!

Let’s dress in our pinkiest pinks, get out the card stock, scissors, glue, ALL THE GLITTER and craft our very own Valentine cards! Typically, this event has been held in a private residence, but this year the management at Nordstrom asked if they could host our glittery gathering…uhh… HELL YES!! Although the Holiday Cookie Exchange in December was a little flat, Ms. Leoni and her staff enjoyed having us for that event and are in full alignment with the importance we place on connecting with our community.
Community is much more than just the street we live on, the places we work, where our children go to school. It’s the encompassing of all the people, places, and things that give meaning to our lives. As we celebrate Valentines day, (Chrissy’s fav BTW!) we are not just celebrating chocolates, roses and lovers. We are celebrating our connection to each other, the love of our Normalize Eminence community.

As a matter of fact, there are several styles of holiday cookie that deserve to be recognized year-round but are often reserved for special holiday appearances. Since we have waited all year to indulge in these decadent homemade treats, why not do it with flare! I can’t think of a better way to connect with each other, especially during this busy time of year than with a cookie buffet and coffees on a cool December Sunday morning.
There is a twist to this event. It needs your participation!

Each video will feature tutorials on how Chrissy takes old world tradition and elevates it. THEN, it’s your turn!
